Here, rescued animals—victims of illegal trafficking and the pet trade

Taricaya Rescue center:

A 30-minute jungle walk from the lodge leads you through dense rainforest to the Taricaya Rescue Center, a sanctuary dedicated to giving wildlife a second chance.

Here, rescued animals—victims of illegal trafficking and the pet trade—are cared for, rehabilitated, and prepared for their return to the wild. Every step of the process honors the goal of freedom, not captivity.

An experience rooted in awareness and conservation,

where the jungle reveals both its fragility and its resilience.

Sunset Cruise

Glide along the Madre de Dios River as the jungle exhales and the sky melts into layers of gold, amber, and deep violet.

The water reflects the fading light, birds return to their nests, and the day slowly gives way to night.

A quiet, contemplative journey: where time softens and the rhythm of the rainforest reveals itself at dusk.

Night Walk

Step into the rainforest after dark on a 1-hour guided night walk, when the jungle transforms and a hidden world awakens.

Under the cover of darkness, sounds intensify, shadows shift, and nocturnal life emerges—frogs, insects, and elusive creatures reveal themselves through movement, rhythm, and sound.

An immersive journey into the unknown side of the rainforest,

where every step heightens the senses and the jungle tells a different story.

Discover the rainforest after dark, when a different side of the jungle becomes alive.

Guided walks reveal nocturnal wildlife, sounds and hidden wonders.

Canopy Walkway

Venture high above the forest floor on suspended bridges and platforms, weaving through the treetops of the rainforest’s tallest giants.

From this elevated path, the jungle unfolds from a rare perspective—birds glide at eye level, leaves whisper in the wind, and life thrives where the forest meets the sky.

An exhilarating journey through the canopy, where adventure and biodiversity converge among the trees.

Bird Watching

Witness the Amazon come alive through its birds—macaws, toucans, and countless endemic species—observed in their natural habitat from carefully selected vantage points.

Guided by our experts, each outing becomes an exercise in patience and presence, where color, movement, and sound reveal the intricate rhythm of the rainforest.

A quiet yet powerful encounter with wildlife, where observation turns into connection and the jungle speaks through its wings.

Lago Sandoval

Explore one of the Amazon’s most iconic oxbow lakes, nestled deep inside the Tambopata National Reserve.

A mirror-like body of water hidden in the heart of the rainforest, shaped by time and nature.

Home to giant river otters, macaws, monkeys, and an extraordinary diversity of wildlife.

A serene journey into pristine rainforest biodiversity: where stillness, reflection, and life coexist in perfect balance.

One to One Ese Eja Connection

Experience a meaningful cultural exchange guided by Dejaviso, also known as Enrique, a respected Ese Eja leader and native of the region.

Through his voice and lived experience, Dejaviso shares the history of his people—their traditions, ways of life, worldview, and enduring relationship with the Amazon rainforest. His storytelling offers insight into a culture shaped by the land, memory, and collective wisdom.

A rare opportunity to listen, learn, and connect—

not as spectators, but as guests welcomed into an ancestral narrative that continues to live and evolve.

Adventure Essentials - ESE EJA ETHNIC EXPERIENCE
PALMA REAL COMMUNITY

Live an authentic cultural immersion into the life and rich ancestral heritage of the Palma Real Community, part of the Ese-Eja ethnic tribe—the indigenous people of the Lower Madre de Dios River in Peru and the Beni River in Bolivia.

In 2018, their stunning Basketry was declared a National Cultural Heritage of Peru. This art form reflects the tribe’s profound bond with their ancestral territory and their sustainable use of plant species. This practice is deeply rooted in the female community, shaping both social and gender identity.

Through guided visits and craft workshops, we learn about and appreciate the Ese-Eja culture, contributing directly to the revaluation and preservation of this vital Amazonian indigenous group.
