Impact & Conservation

A conscious eco lodge in the jungle, where travel finds purpose.

How Your Stay Makes an Impact

A journey becomes transformative when it creates positive change for the traveler, for local communities, and for the land that receives them.

Travel changes us, and in return, it shapes the world around us.

A more conscious way of traveling begins with reflection: awakening compassion, equality, and a sense of belonging that naturally leads to inspired action.

Rooted in self-awareness, mutual respect, social support, and care for nature, we believe tourism can be a force for regeneration.

One that nurtures local culture, strengthens communities, and allows the environment we depend on to thrive.

At Amazon Planet, your stay is part of that cycle.

Conservation in Action

The Amazon rainforest plays a vital role in regulating the planet’s climate.

Its trees capture carbon emissions and transform them into oxygen, helping restore balance far beyond its borders.

On average, one hectare of Amazon rainforest captures approximately 450 tons of CO₂ per year. Each carbon credit represents one ton of CO₂ captured annually — a measurable reminder of the forest’s living value.

Beyond numbers, forests are home.

They shelter millions of species, sustain water cycles, hold ancestral knowledge, and provide medicine, energy, and life itself.

Together with the Taricaya Ecological Reserve and KAWSAY biological station, Amazon Planet helps protect 741 hectares of pristine Amazon rainforest, connected directly to the Tambopata National Reserve.

Through ecotourism, biodiversity research, wildlife management, and environmental education, we contribute to the conservation of this land as a true biological corridor — while creating sustainable employment opportunities for local communities.

When you recommend Amazon Planet and a booking is made, you earn the equivalent of five carbon credits, directly supporting the protection of this forest.

Your stay helps keep the Amazon standing.

Wildlife & Forest Protection

Wildlife sustains the rainforest.

As pollinators and seed dispersers, wild animals make regeneration possible and keep the forest alive.

At Amazon Planet, we support the Taricaya Wildlife Rescue Center, located within the Taricaya Ecological Reserve.

Since 2008, the center has rescued and rehabilitated animals affected by deforestation and illegal hunting.

Today, around 60 animals are under care.

Some remain as permanent residents, while most are rehabilitated and released back into protected forest areas.

Every animal depends on daily food, medical care, and dedicated professionals.

When you recommend Amazon Planet and a booking is made, you help care for one rescued animal for an entire week.

Life returns to the forest through action.

Circular Sustainability Model

At Amazon Planet, sustainability is circular, not extractive.

Everything that sustains us is designed to return value to the land and the people who make life here possible—aligning our daily practices with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those centered on well-being, responsible resource use, environmental protection, and community empowerment.

Energy flows from the sun, complemented by a generator that supports essential needs, allowing the lodge to operate in balance with its surroundings.

Our kitchen follows the same principle: ingredients are sourced from nearby native communities, strengthening the local economy while honoring seasonal rhythms and ancestral knowledge.

Resources are used consciously, zero waste is the goal, and decisions are made with long-term impact in mind.

Ecotourism, conservation, and community livelihoods are woven into a single system—one that protects the forest while allowing it, and its people, to thrive.

Here, nothing is taken without giving back.

Sustainability becomes a living cycle.
